Jonboy Langford’s enduring gang of bar room musicians issue their seventh album in as many years. Rocking, rolling, drinking and fighting their way through another 13 tracks with titles Nothing At All, Drinkin’ & Cheatin’ & Death and Come a Long Way. After all those years they still sound like they are having fun while making this album and we look forwards to them playing it live over here in the near future. It’s a wonder Newport’s finest son finds enough time what with his art projects, Mekons commitments, co-writing and collaborations.

Elbow - Leaders of the Free World (V2)
Third album from laid back indie peddlers Elbow and not a duff track throughout. I’ve never understood how Coldplay have become so famous while this bands clever atmospheric guitar based lush sound has not been championed by the same chattering classes. Maybe their lead singer needs to marry a famous film star and name their love child after a fruit to get on?!
